Roberto Galicia in a painter like no one else, a genius of the canvass. His training began in 1955 when he was studying drawing and painting in Ahuachapan and Santa Ana. However, that was not it. Roberto Galicia also studied in the School of Architecture at the National University. His first exposition happened in 1968 and since then he's exposed in and out of the country.He directed the National Arts Center and the School of Applied Arts at the Jose Matias Delgado University. He's hosted the Studio 4 TV show and was Director General of Culture. He has written and theorized extensively on Salvadoran painting. He has lectured and acted as jury member in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. In 1994, he presided over the Salvadoran Fine Arts Association. Right now, Roberto Garcia is the president of the National Council of Arts and Culture.
