Margarita Island

The Island of Pearls, this wonderful location beats with cultural riches and unmatchable beaches. Any day could be a perfect day to wake up in the morning with the chirping of a bird and the warm sunshine peeking through your window. Take a grand tour around the island and you'll find the Santa Rosa Castle, built in 1680 and formerly dwelt by national independence heroine Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi when she was in jail. Located by the bay bearing the same name, this castle stood as a silent witness to some of the most decisive battles for the Venezuelan independence. Precious churches where deities are worshipped in line with the local traditions and museums that treasure a piece of this country's history are must-sees on the island. Don't you miss out on the opportunity to swing by those contrasting fishermen's villages in Porlomas and Pampatar. Along all of this, you could have a great time in any of its restaurants offering local and international cuisine, as well as in bars and nightclubs where you'll catch a little bit of leisure and entertainment.
