Biografía:
Santo Amaro da Purificação, 1946 Maria Bethania recorded her first LP in 1965, even though she only made it big in the 1970s and eventually evolved into a gospel singer back in the 1980s. Her first smash bit was "Rosa dos Ventos", followed by "Alibi". She also collaborated with Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho en la Fusa (na Fusa). She's sung with all of Brazil's great pop acts in the nation's popular rhythms like samba, bossa-nova and new melodies adequate for her mellow and beautiful voice. Bethania is well known for the way she takes care of her live presentations, the quality of her staged performance and her great repertoire. No wonder Maria Bethania is one of the staunchest and firmest values of Brazil's musical realm from the 1970s to date.
