American Airlines has welcomed the opening of its new Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining facilities at Los Angeles International Airport.

The new location offers customers several options to dine, relax and get ready for long journeys.

Suzanne Boda, American senior vice president, Los Angeles, joined Sean Burton, president of the Los Angeles World Airports’ Board of Commissioners, to officially cut the ribbon on the more than 14,500-square-foot space.

Jamaica prime minister, Andrew Holness, has welcome the support of tourism stakeholders in St. James after the government rolled-out a series of increased security measures to curb crime in the area.

The move has led some to question the safety of tourists in the popular Montego Bay resorts.

The prime minister was responding to a question during a press conference where he announced that a state of public emergency has been declared for the parish.

Princess, Fathom to Support the Caribbean with Spring Departures

In an effort to support communities affected by the 2017 hurricanes in the Caribbean, and after a sold-out inaugural group on the upcoming Jan. 20 Crown Princess sailing, Princess Cruises and Fathom Travel are adding two spring departures.

Mexico, Jamaica Ink MOU on Tourism

Mexico and Jamaica signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 16 January that aims to make travel between the destinations easier and more frequent thanks to a multi-destination marketing arrangement.

The deal was signed by Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon Edmund Bartlett, and Mexican Secretary of Tourism, His Excellency Enrique de la Madrid Cordero, at the Westin Palace Hotel in Madrid, Spain.

Multi-destination agreements have now been signed between Jamaica, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico.

Belarus opened a national stand at the International Tourism Fair 2018 in Madrid, Spain. The Fitur forum is the second largest tourist exhibition in the world. Belarus is represented at the forum for the first time.

Cuba Wins Excelencias Award as Safest Travel Destination

Cuba has won the Excelencias Award as the safest country for tourism at the International Tourism Fair Fitur 2018, which is unfolding in Madrid through January 21.

The award was received by the Cuban minister of the industry, Manuel Marrero, who heads the island's delegation to that event, reported Gustavo Machin, Cuban Ambassador to Spain, in his Twitter account.

The delegation from the Caribbean country is made up of executives from the main hotel chains, as well as the associates Melia Hotels, Iberostar, Blue Diamond, among others.
