Haydée Milanés Sees 2017 Off with Music, Love

Haydée Milanés will make a presentation in Cuba with songs from her latest album “Amor Deluxe” on December 20, at the Teatro Mella, in Havana.

During the concert entitled "La Música," the renowned singer, songwriter and music producer will be accompanied by such boldface names as Mexican singer-songwriter Rosalía León and Cuban musicians Carlos Varela, Ernán López-Nussa and Cucurucho Valdés.

Ani Villas Dominican Republic Open

The Ani Villas Dominican Republic has opened in Rio San Juan on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

The 14-suite oceanfront resort sits on four acres on a peninsula surrounded by the sea on three sides and two private beaches.

Two villas, one with eight suites and the other with six, can host a single group or two parties, each in their own private space.

The 10 1,200-square-foot master suites feature pitched ceilings, screens of backlit onyx, South American hardwoods, local travertine limestone, soaking tubs and enclosed gardens.

Dominican Republic’s Travel Industry on a Roll

Visits to the Dominican Republic are up substantially in the first ten months of 2017, and they're making room for even more visitors with more than a dozen new hotels on the way.

International visits to the Dominican were up 4.5 per cent from January to October, tourism officials said, thanks in part to additional flights from the U.S. and Europe. Total international visits reached 4.5 million.

Expedia also is reporting that the number of reservations for Puerto Plata grew roughly 10 per cent in the first six months of 2017.

Thomas Cook Airlines Starts Barbados-London Nonstop Flight

Thomas Cook Airlines’ inaugural flight from Gatwick Airport to Barbados has departed during a Bajan carnival event.

The weekly flight from Gatwick joins three-times weekly flights to Barbados from Manchester.

Across Thomas Cook Group Airlines, over 265,000 seats are available to Caribbean destinations in the winter season, a 11 per cent increase on last year.

The nine hours and five-minute direct flight from Gatwick will operate on a Saturday on the Airbus A330-200 from until March 23rd.
